Hello, I just got my Quest 2 and I am wanting to play Half life Alyx wirelessly using VD. When I play it this way now, it is very blurry, but if I play with a link cable, it works great, and the picture is crisp. My setup: 5800x, RTX3090 and 32GB ram Computer is hardwired into the router. Router is an Eero 6 pro, so it is a high-end Wi-Fi 6 router.
I run HL Alyx with a 1070 and it looks fine I guess, but as you will likely discover that is because the image quality on the Quest 2 is fundamentally limited by the bitrate over airplay or usb-c. You won't be able to get the same image quality on the Quest 2 as you would on your computer; however, that has not bothered me at all with VR
It is the best way to play any PCVR game. The higher FOV from Index (the only thing Quest 2 lacks) is not worth the wireless freedom and the lack of base stations. I'd say missing any sort of decent onboard audio is also a big negative. I'm going to give native VR signal a higher priority than wireless for Alyx.
I'm on a MBP 16" 2020 with the 5600M and Oculus Link with a Quest 2. Half-Life Alyx runs perfectly (and very well at High graphics settings which was selected by default, did not try Ultra yet), no crashes. Same with all the Oculus and SteamVR demos I tried out.
Half Life Alyx crashing on level load. EDIT 3: Reinstalling the Oculus PC App did the trick for me :) Also installed it on another Drive after I got new replacement Drives. So I just upgraded my rig to be VR Ready and the game runs very good and smooth with high res but when loading into a new level it just crashes before I even get the loading
