Strength: Sharp, with very good color contrast. Built solidly, a constant 2.8 with internal focus ( is not a dust pump). Good range for most applications. Not heavy so it can be a walk around lens. Weakness: For some not having USM is an issue. It is a discontinued model so parts and service could be an issue. At 5.5 stop 14-35 is 0.5 stops better than 15-35, if no fast motion and DOF was not important this can make the 14-35 just 0.5 stop darker. 2. Better magnification. At 0.38x 14-35 is almost 2 times better than 15-35 at 0.21x making it capable of creating UWA macro shot that very few lens if any can do. 6 days ago · The Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L has remarkably low levels of distortion for an ultra-wide zoom. Regarding its rather steep pricing of around 1400€/US$ it's primarily targeting the professional market segment.
